Listed buildings & Conservation areas

It is a particularly useful product for home owners living in a listed building or conservation area where there are strict limits on the changes that can be made to a property.

What is secondary glazing?

Our secondary glazing is an inconspicuous aluminium window fitted on the inside of your existing window.

The slim aluminium frame is fixed to your existing window or into the window reveal.

The reveal fix creates a 100mm-200mm gap to provide optimum insulation and soundproofing.

Secondary glazing can help reduce your energy costs

Our secondary glazing substantially improves the thermal insulation of existing single-glazed windows, reducing heat loss through the window by around 65% - approximately 10% more than double glazing achieves.

This means your home will stay warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer - saving money.

We have a number of different glazing options available, allowing us (if required) to exceed Building Regulations’ Requirements. We can accommodate up to 10.8mm in all our product types and up to 28mm in our hinged units.

We can also tailor the glazing for security, tinting and solar protection.

Reduce external noise by up to 80%

The 100mm-200mm gap between your existing window and the secondary glazing creates the most effective means of removing external noise from a room, even more so than the most high-spec double glazing products.

Our secondary glazing can reduce external noise by up to 80% (which is the equivalent of 54 dB).
